Browser notifications

Get a notification on your phone or computer for new orders, messages, reviews and more, even when QKAP isn't open, and choose what you hear about.

QKAP can send a notification to your phone or computer when something needs you: a new order, a new conversation, a review to approve, a payment problem. It shows up like a message from an app, even when QKAP isn't open. You turn it on once on each device you want it on, and choose which kinds you get. Notifications are included on every plan.

Turn on notifications

  1. Go to Dashboard → Settings → Notifications.
  2. Under This device, tap Turn on notifications.
  3. When your browser asks, choose Allow.

Tap Send a test to check that it works. Do the same on every phone and computer you want notifications on: each one appears under Your devices.

QKAP never asks on its own. Your browser only shows its question after you tap Turn on notifications.

Where they work

  • Computers: Chrome, Edge, Firefox and Opera, and Safari on a Mac with macOS 13 Ventura or later. Chrome, Edge and Firefox show them while the browser is running, even with no window open.
  • Android: Chrome, Edge, Firefox, Samsung Internet and Opera.
  • iPhone and iPad: iOS 16.4 or later, once QKAP is on your Home Screen (steps below).

They don't work inside the built-in browsers of apps like Instagram or Facebook, or in private windows. Open QKAP in your normal browser instead.

iPhone and iPad

An iPhone only shows notifications from apps on its Home Screen, so add QKAP there first:

  1. Open your dashboard in Safari.
  2. Tap •••, then Share. On iOS 18 or earlier, tap Share.
  3. Tap Add to Home Screen, keep Open as Web App on, then tap Add.
  4. Open QKAP from your Home Screen, go to Settings → Notifications and tap Turn on notifications, then Allow.

Brave

Brave blocks notifications from websites until you turn on one setting: open Settings → Privacy and security and turn on Use Google services for push messaging. Then turn notifications on in QKAP.

Choose what you hear about

Under What to notify you about, switch each kind on or off. Switches save as you go and count for every device you turned on.

KindWhat you get
Orders and bookingsNew orders, buyers who say they've paid, calls that moved, and orders assigned to you
MessagesA new conversation in your inbox, or a new message in one you've read and haven't archived
ReviewsReviews waiting for your approval
Subscribers and sign-upsNew deal-alert subscribers, form responses, waitlist and community joins
Page healthBroken product links, Auto-DM stopping, custom domain changes, and finished emails and imports
Plan and accountYour trial ending, payment problems, team changes and agency requests
News from QKAPNew features and tips, a few times a month at most. Off until you turn it on

Sign-ups are grouped so a busy day doesn't flood you: the first one arrives right away, and the ones after it arrive together a little later, like "5 new subscribers".

Tap a notification to open it in your dashboard. If it's about another of your pages, QKAP switches to that page first.

Team members and agencies

If you work on someone else's page, you get its notifications for the areas your role can open: orders if you can see orders, messages if you can read the inbox, and so on. Plan and billing alerts go only to the account that pays. Your switches are your own and cover every page you work on. See Team and roles.

What a notification shows

Notifications can appear on a locked screen, so they never include message text, review text, form answers, or buyers' emails, phone numbers or addresses. You see just enough to know what happened, like "New order #1042", and the details stay in your dashboard.

Turn notifications off

  • On this device: under This device, tap Turn off.
  • On another device: under Your devices, tap Turn off next to it. Everything from QKAP stops on that device, including updates from Get QKAP updates.
  • One kind: switch it off under What to notify you about.

Logging out of QKAP on a device also stops its notifications. If you log in there again within 90 days, they start again once you open your dashboard; after that, turn them on again. Signing out other devices, or changing your password, stops them on those devices too. See Account security.

News from QKAP and Get QKAP updates

QKAP's news can reach a browser in two ways: the News from QKAP switch, for every device you turned on, and the Get QKAP updates button at the bottom of qkap.app, for that browser only. A browser with both gets each update once.

  • Switching News from QKAP off stops QKAP's news on all your devices, including ones where you also tapped Get QKAP updates.
  • In a browser that gets QKAP updates from that button, This device says so and has a separate Turn off for them. Turning off notifications under This device leaves those updates on until you turn them off too. Turning that device off from another one, under Your devices, stops its updates as well.
  • At the bottom of qkap.app, Turn off next to QKAP updates on stops them in that browser. On a device you turned on, it also switches News from QKAP off.

If your browser blocked them

If you chose Block, QKAP can't ask again: only your browser's settings can undo it. Settings → Notifications shows the steps for the browser you're using. In short:

  • Chrome, Edge and Opera: click the icon to the left of the address bar and set Notifications to Allow, then reload the page.
  • Firefox: click the icon to the left of the address bar and clear Blocked next to Send notifications, then reload.
  • Safari on a Mac: choose Safari → Settings → Websites → Notifications and set qkap.app to Allow.
  • iPhone and iPad: open the Settings app, tap Notifications → QKAP and turn on Allow Notifications.

Then go back to Settings → Notifications and tap Turn on notifications.

Common questions

Do I still get emails?

Yes. Email alerts are separate and set per page: Email notifications in your inbox settings (see Inbox and brand deals) and Send order alerts to in Store → Payments (see UPI and payment links). Emails about your account's security, like password changes, always come by email.

Why didn't a notification arrive?

  • On a computer, Chrome, Edge and Firefox only show notifications while they're running.
  • Focus or Do Not Disturb on your phone or computer can hide them.
  • Your phone's settings may block notifications from your browser, or from QKAP on an iPhone.
  • The kind may be switched off under What to notify you about.
  • If you logged out on that device, log in again.

Tap Send a test in Settings → Notifications to check a device.

Do my followers or buyers get notifications?

Not from your page. Notifications are for the people who run pages: you, your team and your agency.
