Community groups
Create free or paid groups where you post updates, links and photos, and members read them in their QKAP account.
Community groups are your own broadcast channels. You post updates, links and photos; members read them in the Groups tab of their QKAP account and react with emoji. Paid groups are only open to fans with an active membership, so they're a simple way to give paying members something extra every week.
Free and paid groups
- Free groups are open to anyone with a free QKAP account.
- Paid groups are open to fans with an active membership plan from your store. You pick which plans unlock the group, or leave them all unticked so any of your plans does. Fans pay for the membership exactly as they do today, by UPI or your payment link. See Memberships.
Access to a paid group is checked every time a member opens it. When a membership ends, that member can't read new posts until they renew. Nothing is deleted.
Paid groups are part of Premium, like members-only posts. Free groups are available on every plan.
Create a group
- Go to Dashboard → Community (in the Audience group) and tap New group.
- Enter a Group name and, if you like, What members get and a cover photo.
- Under Who can join, choose Paid members or Free. For a paid group, tick the membership plans that unlock it. No plan yet? Create one in Store → Memberships first.
- Leave Reactions on if members may react to posts, and Published on so fans can find it.
- Tap Create group.
You can have up to 20 groups.
Post to a group
- Open the group in Dashboard → Community.
- On the Posts tab, write your update.
- Tap Photos to add up to 6 photos, or Link to add a web link.
- Tap Post.
Members see the post in their Groups tab, with a count of new posts on the tab. Use the pin button to keep a post at the top, or the bin to delete it.
Share your group
Each published group has its own join page at qkap.app/yourname/g/group-name. Copy it from the top of the group in your dashboard and share it in your bio, stories or reels.
Your page also gets a Community section listing your published groups. Move or hide it in Dashboard → Design. See Page layout.
On the join page:
- Logged-out fans are asked to log in or create a free account.
- For a paid group, fans without a membership see your plans with their prices and can buy one there.
- Once they're in, the group opens in their account.
Members
The Members tab lists everyone who joined, with when they joined. In a paid group, members whose membership has ended are marked Membership ended. Tap the remove button to take someone out of a group. They can join again from the join page if they still have access.
Team members
Team members need the Run community groups permission to post and manage groups. See Team and roles.
Common questions
Can members post or reply?
No. Groups are broadcast channels: you post, members read and react. For one-to-one conversations, use the Inbox.
Do members get an email for every post?
Not yet. New posts show as a count on the Groups tab of their QKAP account.
What happens if I delete a group?
Its posts and member list are deleted for good. The memberships themselves aren't affected, so members keep any other access their plan gives them.
