Build your restaurant menu
Add menu sections, dishes, prices, veg marks, tags, dish photos and photos of your printed menu.
Your menu shows on your page as a view-only list guests can search and browse. You build it in Dashboard → Cafe & restaurant → Menu.
If you haven't set up your place yet, start with Set up your cafe or restaurant.
Add sections
Sections group your menu, like Starters, Main course and Drinks.
- Go to Dashboard → Cafe & restaurant and tap Edit menu.
- Tap Add a section.
- Type a Section name. You can add an optional line under it, like "Served 12 pm to 4 pm".
- Tap Save section.
To change or remove a section, use Edit section or Delete section. Deleting a section also deletes its items and their photos for good.
Add dishes one by one
- Tap Add an item.
- Fill in the Name and an optional Description.
- Pick the Section.
- Enter a price like 120 or 120.50. Leave it empty to show no price.
- Under Veg or non-veg, choose Veg, Non-veg, Egg or Vegan.
- Pick up to 3 Tags: Bestseller, Chef's special, New, Spicy, Must try, Jain, Gluten-free or Contains nuts.
- Add a Dish photo if you like.
- Tap Save item.
Each item also has two switches:
- Sold out: the dish stays on your menu with a "Sold out" badge.
- Hide from my page: only you see it in the dashboard until you switch it back.
When things are back in stock, Mark all available clears every "Sold out" badge at once.
Paste many items at once
Typing a long menu? Use Paste items.
- Tap Paste items and choose a section under Add to section.
- Paste one item per line, with its price at the end. "Name - 120", "Name ₹120" and "Name 120" all work. A line without a price adds the item without one.
- Tap Add items.
You can paste up to 100 lines at a time. If your plan has less room, QKAP tells you how many will fit.
Add photos of your printed menu
Under Menu photos, tap Add photos to upload JPG, PNG or WebP images of your printed menu. Guests open them full screen. Add an optional caption like "Lunch menu".
Menu photos show under your typed menu, or on their own if you don't type in any items.
Menu settings
In Menu settings you can set:
- Menu title: leave it empty to use "Menu".
- Currency: the currency for your prices.
- Show search on my page: adds a search box above menus with 8 items or more.
On your page, guests can also jump between sections and filter to veg only.
Free vs Premium
| What | Free | Premium |
|---|---|---|
| Sections | 6 | 40 |
| Items | 40 | 500 |
| Dish photos | 10 | 500 |
| Menu photos | 3 | 20 |
When you're over a Free limit, nothing is deleted. The first sections and items in your order are shown, and the rest are marked Hidden on Free. An item over the dish-photo limit shows without its photo. See pricing.
