Limited spots and waitlists
Cap a product to a number of spots, close sales at a set time, and collect waitlist emails for coming-soon or sold-out products.
Create real urgency for launches and cohorts. Cap the number of spots, set a deadline, and let a waitlist catch everyone who misses out.
The Sales section
Open a product in Dashboard → Products and scroll to Sales. You'll find:
- Coming soon: the page collects waitlist emails instead of orders.
- Limited spots: the number of spots. Empty means unlimited.
- Sale ends: a date and time when sales close. A live countdown shows on the page, in your time zone.
- Show sales count: adds "N sold" to the page once there are paid orders. Real numbers only.
For physical products, use Stock in Delivery & inventory instead of limited spots.
Limit the spots
- In Sales, enter a number in Limited spots.
- Save.
Buyers see how many spots are left. Spots are counted from real orders. An unpaid order holds a spot for 24 hours; if it isn't paid by then, the spot is offered again. When every spot is taken, the page switches to a waitlist.
Set a deadline
- In Sales, pick a date and time in Sale ends.
- Save.
A countdown ticks down on the page. At the deadline the checkout closes by itself, and the page shows "Sales have closed" with a waitlist form.
Launch with a waitlist
- Create the product and turn on Coming soon.
- Publish it with a cover and pitch.
- Followers tap Notify me and leave their email (a name is optional). No account is needed.
- When you're ready, turn off Coming soon to open sales.
- Email the waitlist (below).
Each email can join a product's waitlist only once.
Email or export the waitlist
When a product has a waitlist, its Share & stats card shows two buttons:
- Email the waitlist: opens Emails with that waitlist picked, so you can write your "it's open" email.
- Waitlist CSV: downloads the list.
Store emails are limited to 3 a day. See Orders and customers.
Reopen sales
Raise the limit or move the end date, save, then email the waitlist.

Common questions
Do unpaid orders take a spot?
For 24 hours. After that the spot is offered again.
Do people need an account to join a waitlist?
No. Just an email address.
Does this work for coaching calls?
Yes. Limited spots and deadlines work on calls too, which suits limited coaching slots. The tip jar has no Sales section.
