A good reel series caption tells people three things in the first line or two: this is Part 1, how many parts there are, and where the rest is. Pair it with matching on-screen text and a spoken line in the reel, and repeat the call to action in stories and comment replies. QKAP's share kit gives you a ready Part 1 caption, such as "Part 1/5 🔥 Watch Parts 2–5 on my page — link in bio", plus a link and caption for each part, which you can use as is or adapt to your voice.
Key takeaways
- Put the series call to action in the first line of the caption, before Instagram cuts it off with "more".
- Say the same thing in three places: out loud, on screen and in the caption.
- Be specific: "Parts 2–5 on my page" beats "more in bio".
- Use each part's own link in stories and replies, so people land on exactly the part they want.
- Mention members-only parts and affiliate links honestly in the caption.
Why series captions are different
A normal product reel caption can be leisurely. A series caption has a single urgent job: get the viewer from Instagram to the next part before they scroll away. That means the call to action comes first and the story comes second.
Instagram shows only the start of a caption before the "more" cut-off, so the first line does most of the work. For general caption structures, see our caption formulas for product posts.
The QKAP share kit captions
Every series in your QKAP dashboard has a share kit with:
- The series link, ready to copy.
- A Part 1 caption, which names the remaining parts and includes the link. With five parts it reads: "Part 1/5 🔥 Watch Parts 2–5 on my page — link in bio" followed by your series link.
- A caption for each later part, using that part's own link and title, for example "Part 3/5: The reveal 🔥 Watch it on my page — link in bio".
These are deliberately plain so they work for any niche. Copy them as they are, or use them as the first line and add your own context below.
Part 1 caption templates
Adapt these, keeping the first line focused on the next part.
Transformation series
Part 1/4 🔥 The before. Parts 2–4 are on my page, link in bio. ₹15,000, one weekend, one tiny balcony. Here's the starting point.
Comparison series
Part 1/5: budget earbuds under ₹2,000. Parts 2–5 and the winner are on my page, link in bio. First up, the pair everyone keeps asking about.
Test over time
Day 1 of 30 🔥 Every check-in is on my page, link in bio. Same lighting, same camera, no filter, so you can judge for yourself.
Members-only later parts
Part 1/6 is free here. Parts 2 and 3 are free on my page; Parts 4–6 are for members. Link in bio.
The last one is important. If some parts are locked, say so. Our guide to locking later parts explains why being upfront matters.
On-screen text and spoken lines
The caption only helps people who read it. Many viewers watch without sound and never open the caption, so add a short on-screen line in the last few seconds:
- "Part 2 → link in bio"
- "Parts 2–5 on my page"
- "The winner is in Part 5 (link in bio)"
And say it once before the final second:
Part 2 is on my page, link's in my bio.
Keep the wording consistent across the reel, the text overlay and the caption. Repetition in slightly different words can confuse; repetition in the same words reinforces. For more lines, see our link-in-bio call-to-action examples.
Stories: send people to a specific part
Stories let you add a link sticker, which is the most direct route to a part. Use each part's own link from the share kit:
- When Part 1 is posted: "Part 1 is up. Parts 2–5 are waiting here" with the series link.
- A day or two later: "Most people stopped at Part 2. Part 3 is where it gets good" with the Part 3 link, if your stats suggest people stop there.
- When you add a new part to an ongoing series: "Part 6 just went up" with the Part 6 link.

Replying to "where's Part 2?" comments
You'll get these comments. Reply with something short and specific:
- "It's on my page, link in my bio, Part 2 starts right after Part 1 🙌"
- "Link in bio! You can jump straight to Part 3 if you've seen 2."
Some creators use comment-to-DM tools to send the part link automatically when someone comments a keyword. If you do, send the specific part link rather than your whole page. Our comment-for-link DM strategy guide covers how to do that without spamming.
Pin the series comment
Pinning a comment from yourself with the call to action keeps it visible even when other comments pile up:
📌 Parts 2–5 are on my page, tap the link in my bio. Each part plays straight into the next.
Captions for parts on your page
Parts 2 onwards are watched on your QKAP page, where each part can have its own caption of up to 1,000 characters. Use them for:
- Context: what this part covers, in a line.
- Product notes: what's linked in "Shop this part", with prices if helpful.
- Disclosure: if any products are affiliate links or a paid partnership, say so here as well as on Instagram.
Locked parts don't show their caption to non-members, so put anything everyone should see in the free parts or the series description.
Mistakes to avoid
- Burying the CTA under hashtags or a long story.
- Vague phrasing like "more in bio" when your bio link opens a page with dozens of things.
- Promising Part 2 before it exists. Publish all parts first.
- Hiding the paywall. Mention members-only parts upfront.
- Different numbers in different places, such as "4 parts" in the caption and five on your page.
Frequently asked questions
Where should the CTA go in a reel series caption?
In the first line, before Instagram's "more" cut-off, so viewers see it without expanding the caption.
Can I copy the Part 1 caption from QKAP?
Yes. The share kit on each series has a copy button for the Part 1 caption, plus a link and caption for every later part.
Should I put the series link in my bio?
While a series is new, it's a good idea, so "link in bio" lands directly on the series. The share kit reminds you of this.
Do I need to disclose affiliate links in a series?
Yes, if any part features affiliate links or a paid partnership. Disclose clearly on Instagram and in the part's caption on your page.
Say it, show it, write it, then make the link land on the right part. Create your free QKAP page and copy your first series caption from the share kit.
