To connect QKAP to ChatGPT, open Settings → Connectors in ChatGPT, create a connector with the URL https://qkap.app/mcp and OAuth sign-in, then log in to QKAP and tap Allow. On some ChatGPT plans, custom connectors need developer mode turned on first. For Cursor, VS Code and other developer tools, add an MCP server of type http with the same URL; most sign in with OAuth, and any tool that can't can use an API key from Dashboard → AI connections, sent as Authorization: Bearer YOUR_KEY.

Key takeaways

  • One address works everywhere: https://qkap.app/mcp.
  • ChatGPT connects through Settings → Connectors with OAuth sign-in; some plans need developer mode for custom connectors.
  • Cursor, VS Code and similar tools add QKAP as an http MCP server and usually sign in with OAuth.
  • API keys are the fallback: create one in Dashboard → AI connections, decide whether it may make changes, and copy it once.
  • Every connection works as you, with your plan's limits, and can never change your password, two-factor login or billing, or delete your account.
  • Disconnecting an app or deleting a key in Dashboard → AI connections stops it immediately.

Why connect an AI app to QKAP?

QKAP's MCP server gives AI assistants 177 tools that mirror the dashboard: templates, themes, colours and fonts; profile and bio; links; numbered posts with products; collections; reel series; free and paid community groups; store products, courses, memberships, discounts, reviews and orders; subscribers and email broadcasts; cafe menus and hours; inbox; analytics; team; and tracking pixels.

That means you can say "redesign my page with a luxury black and gold look" or "list my unpaid orders from this week" and the assistant does it. See how one prompt can build your whole page for what that looks like end to end, or read the AI assistant feature page.

Connect QKAP to ChatGPT

Step 1: open Connectors

In ChatGPT, open Settings → Connectors. If you don't see an option to add a custom connector, your plan may need developer mode switched on first. Turn it on in ChatGPT's settings if it's available to you, then come back to Connectors.

Step 2: create the QKAP connector

Create a new connector. Name it QKAP, enter https://qkap.app/mcp as the server URL and choose OAuth as the sign-in method. Save it.

Step 3: log in to QKAP

ChatGPT opens QKAP's sign-in page. Log in as you normally would. ChatGPT never sees your password; you enter it on QKAP.

Step 4: choose full access or read-only

QKAP shows a consent screen listing what the app may do, with a checkbox: Allow it to make changes (untick for read-only). Leave it ticked to let ChatGPT edit your page, or untick it to allow reading only. Then tap Allow.

Step 5: use it in a chat

Back in ChatGPT, enable the QKAP connector in a chat if your app asks you to pick connectors, then start with:

Look at my QKAP page and summarise it: plan, bio, how many posts, links and products, and my current design.

Connect QKAP to Cursor, VS Code and other tools

Developer tools such as Cursor, VS Code and Claude Code can connect to remote MCP servers. The setup is the same idea in each one.

  1. Open your tool's MCP settings and add a new server.
  2. Set the type to http and the URL to https://qkap.app/mcp.
  3. When the tool connects, QKAP's sign-in page opens in your browser. Log in, choose full or read-only access and tap Allow.

OAuth is the better option when your tool supports it: there's no long-lived secret to store, tokens expire after an hour and renew while you stay connected, and you can revoke access from the dashboard.

Option B: API key

If a tool can't sign in with OAuth, use a personal API key:

  1. In QKAP, go to Dashboard → AI connections and tap New API key.
  2. Give the key a name you'll recognise, such as "Cursor on laptop".
  3. Choose whether it may make changes. A read-only key is safer for reporting scripts.
  4. Copy the key. You won't see it again.
  5. In your tool's MCP server settings, add the header Authorization: Bearer YOUR_KEY, replacing YOUR_KEY with the key you copied.

Keep API keys out of shared files and public repositories. If a key might have leaked, delete it with the bin icon in Dashboard → AI connections and create a new one.

Good first prompts

Once connected, these show what the server can do without making big changes:

Which of my posts got the most product clicks in the last 7 days?

List my store products, which ones are drafts, and what's missing before I can publish them.

Get my design options and suggest two templates that suit a fitness coach. Don't apply anything yet.

When you're ready to make changes:

Apply the clean quick style with a deep green accent, make my bio shorter and put my shop first.

QKAP also provides three ready-made prompts to apps that list MCP prompts: Design my QKAP page, Launch a paid community and Set up my store. For a long list of copy-and-paste ideas, see 30 AI prompts for creator link-in-bio pages.

Rules every connection follows

  • Same permissions as the dashboard. The assistant can only reach pages you can open, with your role's permissions if you're on a team. To work on another page, say "on @thathandle".
  • Same plan limits. Free limits and Premium features apply exactly as in the dashboard.
  • No account-level changes. Password, two-factor login, billing and account deletion are never available.
  • Images by link only. Tools accept https image links and images already on QKAP; upload files from your device in the dashboard.
  • Live immediately. Changes appear on your public page right away.
  • No invented details. Assistants are told never to make up prices, affiliate links, payment details or tracking pixel IDs, and to ask you instead.

Troubleshooting

I can't find where to add a custom connector in ChatGPT

Custom connectors need developer mode on some ChatGPT plans, and availability depends on your plan. Check ChatGPT's settings for developer mode, then look again under Settings → Connectors.

The OAuth window opened but nothing happened after I tapped Allow

Close the window and try connecting again. Make sure you're logged in to the right QKAP account; the consent screen connects whichever account you're signed in to.

My tool returns an authorisation error with an API key

Check that the header is exactly Authorization: Bearer followed by a space and the key, with no extra quotes or spaces. If you deleted the key or it was revoked, create a new one.

The assistant says it lacks permission to make changes

You connected read-only, or your API key was created without change access. Reconnect with Allow it to make changes ticked, or create a new key that may make changes.

The assistant says something needs Premium or a limit was reached

That's the same rule as the dashboard. Some features need Premium, and Free pages have limits. The assistant should explain this rather than retry; you can upgrade or ask it to use a Free option.

It changed the wrong page

If you manage several pages, name the handle in every request, such as "on @mycafe".

Frequently asked questions

Is the ChatGPT connection different from the Claude one?

The QKAP side is the same: one server, the same 177 tools, the same rules. Only the setup screens in each app differ.

Should I use OAuth or an API key?

Use OAuth whenever your app supports it. API keys are for tools that can't sign in with OAuth, such as some scripts and editors.

Can I connect several apps at once?

Yes. Each app or key appears separately in Dashboard → AI connections, and you can disconnect each one on its own.

Can the assistant send emails to my subscribers?

It can, if it has change access, but it's instructed to show you the subject, text and recipient count first and get your clear OK. Emails go out right away and can't be recalled, and you can send up to three broadcasts a day.

Where are the official steps?

See the AI connections help doc for the current setup for each app and how to disconnect.
