E-cycles, explained
How do e-cycles work?
A battery-powered motor assists your pedalling, so hills and long distances take less effort. You choose how much help you get with the pedal-assist modes.
How fast do they go?
Most e-cycles top out around 25–30 km/h, depending on motor power and local regulations.
How far can I ride on a charge?
EMotorad models average a 50–70 km range on a full charge, depending on terrain, rider weight and pedal-assist level.
How long does charging take?
Typically about 4–6 hours for a full charge.
Do I need a licence or registration?
No. In India, e-cycles under 25 km/h and 350W don't need a licence or registration, and that covers all EMotorad e-cycles.
Can I ride in the rain?
EMotorad e-cycles handle light rain and wet roads, but avoid submerging the electrical components in water.
Are there models for kids?
Some models have lower frame heights for younger riders, and the Lil E kick scooter is made for kids. Check the height and weight recommendations first.
