# Instagram Auto-DM

How Auto-DM sends your reel's products to anyone who comments a trigger word, and where it stands today.

Auto-DM turns "link?" comments into sales. When someone comments a trigger word like "link" on your reel, QKAP sends them a DM with that reel's products, automatically.

## Is it available yet?

Auto-DM is rolling out. QKAP is waiting on Instagram's approval, so for most pages **Dashboard → Auto-DM** shows **Coming soon** for now. When it opens for your page, the setup below appears on the same screen. Only the page owner can use Auto-DM.

## How it works

1. You connect your Instagram Creator or Business account.
2. QKAP matches each reel to its QKAP post, using the reel link or the "#23" post number in your caption.
3. A follower comments your trigger word.
4. They get a DM with that reel's products in seconds, and an optional "Sent you a DM 💌" reply under their comment.

## Connect Instagram

1. Go to **Dashboard → Auto-DM** in the Audience group.
2. Tap **Connect Instagram**.
3. Log in with your Creator or Business account. QKAP never sees your password.

To stop, tap **Disconnect**. Auto-DMs stop right away, and you can connect again any time.

## Set your trigger words and message

- **Trigger words**: the words that start a DM. Leave it empty and every comment gets a DM.
- **DM message**: what the DM says. Use `{name}` for their username, `{link}` for the post link, `{number}` for the post number and `{title}` for the first line of the post's caption.
- **Also reply under the comment**: posts a short **Public reply** so others know the DM is coming, which brings more comments.
- **Send my page link when a reel has no post**: otherwise comments on unmatched reels are skipped.

## Check your reels

Under **Reels match your posts**, you can see each recent reel and the QKAP post it's matched to. Change any match, or turn Auto-DM off for one reel. Tap Refresh to load new reels.

## Activity

The activity list shows the latest comments QKAP checked, kept for 30 days. You'll also see how many DMs went out this week.

You can pause Auto-DM any time. Comments made while it's paused are not answered later.

Auto-DM works best with [numbered posts](https://qkap.app/docs/numbered-posts), since the post number in your caption is how reels get matched.

## Common questions

### Does it work with a personal Instagram account?

No. You need a Creator or Business account.

### What if a reel has no QKAP post?

The comment is skipped, unless you turn on **Send my page link when a reel has no post**.

### What if my connection breaks?

The screen shows **Needs reconnecting**. Tap **Connect Instagram** again to fix it.
