# Affiliate tag rules

Automatically add your affiliate IDs, Amazon sub-tags and open-in-app links when followers tap Shop, without changing your saved links.

**Dashboard → Affiliate tags** adds your affiliate IDs to store links at the moment a follower taps Shop. The links saved in your posts never change. QKAP doesn't run a referral program of its own; this screen is about earning from your own affiliate links.

All three tools on this screen are Premium features. On Free, any rules and settings you saved are kept but paused. See [pricing](https://qkap.app/pricing).

## Tag rules

A rule says: for this store, add this parameter with your ID.

1. Go to **Dashboard → Affiliate tags** (in the Page group).
2. Tap **Add a rule**, or pick a preset under **Start a rule for**: Amazon India, Amazon.com, Every Amazon store or Flipkart.
3. Set the **Store domain**, like `amazon.in` or `flipkart.com`. Use `amazon.*` for every Amazon country. Subdomains are included.
4. Set the **Parameter**. Amazon uses `tag` and Flipkart uses `affid`.
5. Or just paste a tagged link under **Paste a tagged link** and QKAP fills in the rest.
6. Under **When a link already has this parameter**, choose **Add if missing** (keeps a tag that's already in the link) or **Always override** (replaces any value with yours).
7. Tap **Save rule**.

Rules run from top to bottom, and for each parameter the first matching rule wins. Use the arrows to reorder them. You can have up to 20 rules.

## Amazon sub-tag

Turn on **Add a sub-tag to Amazon links** to add `ascsubtag` to Amazon links. Your Amazon Associates reports then show which post each sale came from.

Set the **Sub-tag template** with letters, numbers, `_` and `-`, plus `{username}` and `{postNumber}`. It's only added when the link doesn't already have one.

## Open in app

Turn on **Open store links in the shopping app**. Followers who tap Shop inside Instagram usually land in a mini browser where they aren't logged in. This sends them to the store's app instead, where checkout is one tap.

It works on Android only, inside Instagram, Facebook and other in-app browsers, for Amazon, Flipkart, Myntra, AJIO and Meesho. If the app isn't installed, the link opens in the browser.

## Test a link

Under **Test a link**, paste a **Product link** to see exactly where followers will land, with any tag applied. Tap **Copy final link** to copy it.

## Common questions

### Will QKAP change the links I saved?

No. The link you paste is the link that's saved. Rules are applied only at tap time.

### What happens if Premium ends?

Your rules and settings stay saved but are paused. Followers go to your links exactly as saved.

### Do I need rules to use affiliate links?

No. You can paste already-tagged links into your posts. See [Affiliate links](https://qkap.app/docs/affiliate-links).
