# Multilingual Link in Bio: Reach Followers in Their Own Language

> Why your link-in-bio page should work in Hindi, Tamil, Bengali and more, what QKAP translates automatically, and how to write your own text for mixed audiences.

A multilingual link-in-bio page shows its buttons, labels and checkout steps in each visitor's own language. On QKAP this happens automatically in 19 languages, including Hindi, Bengali, Tamil, Telugu and Marathi. The language comes from the visitor's browser settings or a choice they make in the page's language menu. Your own words, such as your bio, post captions and product names, stay exactly as you wrote them, so how you write them for a mixed-language audience is still up to you.

## Key takeaways

- There are two layers to a multilingual page: the interface (buttons, labels, checkout) and your content (bio, captions, product titles).
- QKAP translates the interface into 19 languages with nothing to switch on. It doesn't machine-translate your content.
- The language is picked from a saved choice in the language menu, then the browser's language, then English. Your link stays the same for everyone.
- Arabic pages display right to left.
- Write your own text in the language your reels use. For mixed audiences, a short bilingual bio and clear product titles work well.

## What does "multilingual link in bio" mean?

There are two separate things here, and tools differ a lot on each.

- **Interface translation.** The words the tool itself puts on your page, such as "Shop", "Copy code", "Deal ends in", "Subscribe" or "I've paid", appear in the visitor's language.
- **Content translation.** Your own bio, captions and product names are converted into other languages, either by you or by machine translation.

QKAP does the first automatically and leaves the second to you. That's deliberate. Machine translation often mangles product names, sizes, slang and Hinglish, and those mistakes can cost you a sale.

## Why language matters on the page people tap from your bio

Your link-in-bio page is where a follower decides whether to act: tap a product, copy a coupon, pay by UPI or send you a message. If the reel was in Tamil or Hindi but the page around your products feels foreign, some followers will hesitate, especially at checkout.

The steps that most need to be clear are the practical ones: which button to tap, how to copy a coupon code, what "I've paid" means after a UPI payment, and where to find a purchase later. When those labels appear in the follower's language, there's less guessing and fewer "how do I order?" DMs. For more on what Indian audiences need from a page, see [what Indian creators need from a link-in-bio tool](https://qkap.app/blog/best-link-in-bio-for-indian-creators).

## What QKAP translates automatically (and what it doesn't)

**Translated into the visitor's language:**

- Page labels and buttons: search, post and product labels, shop buttons, the saved list and share options
- Deal and coupon labels: "copy code", deal countdowns and "Deal ended"
- The subscribe card, members-only messages and the join prompts on locked posts
- The inbox message form: the preset button text (such as "Message me" or "Sponsorships"), request types and offer options
- The floating button menu, plus the announcement bar's countdown and dismiss controls
- Reel series player labels, such as "Up next"
- Checkout, order pages and follower account pages such as My purchases and Messages
- The labels in WhatsApp order messages (price, coupon, which post it came from) and the default opening line

**Not translated (shown exactly as you wrote it):**

- Your display name, bio and disclosure line
- Post captions, product titles and descriptions, and link titles
- Any custom button text, custom lock message, announcement bar text, inbox intro note, auto-reply and quick replies
- Your own pre-filled WhatsApp message, if you've written one
- Series, course and lesson titles
- Policy pages, which stay in English (their link labels are translated)

The creator dashboard is in English only. If a particular phrase hasn't been translated yet, it falls back to English rather than showing a gap.

| Page element | Translated automatically? | What you should do |
|---|---|---|
| Shop, coupon and deal labels | Yes | Nothing |
| Checkout and order steps | Yes | Nothing, but test a purchase in one language you know |
| Inbox button (preset text) | Yes | Use a preset if you want it translated. Custom text stays as typed |
| WhatsApp order message labels | Yes | Keep the default opening line, or write your own in your audience's language |
| Bio and display name | No | Write it in the language your reels use, or make it bilingual |
| Post captions | No | Lead with price, size or coupon so key facts are clear in any language |
| Product titles | No | Keep brand and model names in their original form |
| Announcement bar text | No | Keep it short and simple, under 140 characters |

## How the language is chosen

QKAP picks the language in this order:

1. **The visitor's saved choice.** Every creator page has a small language menu in its footer. Whatever a visitor picks there is remembered in their browser.
2. **The browser's language settings.** If the phone or browser asks for Hindi first, the page shows Hindi. If the first choice isn't supported, QKAP moves to the next one on the list.
3. **English**, when nothing matches.

URLs never carry a language. `qkap.app/yourname` is the same link for everyone, so you share one link in your bio and each visitor sees the interface in their own language. There's nothing for you to switch on.

## The 19 languages

QKAP's public site and creator pages are available in:

- **Indian languages and English:** English, Hindi, Bengali, Tamil, Telugu and Marathi
- **Other languages:** Spanish, Portuguese (Brazil), French, German, Indonesian, Arabic, Japanese, Chinese (Simplified), Turkish, Russian, Italian, Korean and Vietnamese

Arabic is right to left. When a visitor views a page in Arabic, the layout runs right to left, and side-based elements such as the floating button's corner are mirrored.

Some Indian languages, including Gujarati, Kannada, Malayalam, Punjabi and Urdu, aren't on the list as of October 2026. Visitors whose browser asks for one of these see the next supported language in their browser settings, or English.

## How other link-in-bio tools handle language

Tools take different approaches, and QKAP isn't the widest on languages. QKAP is our product; the facts below come from each tool's own help or pricing pages, as of October 2026.

| Tool | Interface languages | Your own text (bio, links, titles) |
|---|---|---|
| QKAP | Public pages in 19 languages, picked per visitor, including 5 Indian languages and right-to-left Arabic; dashboard in English | Shown as written, never machine-translated |
| Lnk.Bio | Control panel and public pages in 32 languages | A paid Translations add-on auto-translates profile content |
| Linktree | The Admin dashboard follows your browser's language where available | Not translated, though Premium can show translated link titles to specific visitors through link personalisation |
| Taplink | System messages follow the language set in your account settings | Shown in the language you created it in |

If you want machine translation of your own words, Lnk.Bio is the documented option. If most of your audience is in India and you'd rather write your own bio and captions, interface translation into Hindi, Bengali, Tamil, Telugu and Marathi may matter more. Check each tool's current pages before you decide, because language support changes. ## Writing your own text for mixed-language audiences

Automatic interface translation gets visitors through the page. Your words are what convince them. Some practical rules:

1. **Match your reels.** If you speak Hinglish in your videos, a Hinglish bio in Roman script is natural. If your reels are in Tamil, write the key lines in Tamil.
2. **Look at your comments.** The script your followers comment in, such as Devanagari, Roman or Bengali, is a good guide to the script they read most easily.
3. **Try a two-line bilingual bio.** The bio allows 300 characters, which is enough for one line in each language. For example: "Budget skincare under ₹500 · ₹500 से कम में स्किनकेयर".
4. **Keep product names in their original form.** Brand names, model numbers and sizes should match what buyers will see on Amazon, Flipkart or Nykaa.
5. **Put key facts first in captions.** Prices, sizes and coupon codes read the same in any language, so lead with them. [Instagram caption formulas for product posts](https://qkap.app/blog/instagram-caption-formulas-product-posts) has structures that work here.
6. **Think before customising labels.** Preset inbox button text is translated for each visitor, but custom text isn't. Use a preset unless your custom wording really fits your whole audience.
7. **Test in another language.** Open your own page, pick Hindi or Tamil from the footer menu, and check how your own text sits beside the translated labels.

Design matters as much as words. Clear contrast, readable fonts and short sections help every visitor. See [link-in-bio page design tips](https://qkap.app/blog/link-in-bio-page-design-tips), and QKAP's [themes](https://qkap.app/features/themes) for fonts and layouts.

## Bottom line

A multilingual page removes friction at exactly the moment a follower is deciding whether to act. QKAP handles the interface in 19 languages automatically, with one link for everyone. Your job is to write your bio, captions and product titles in the language your audience actually uses. ## Frequently asked questions

### Does QKAP translate my captions?

No. QKAP translates its own interface, such as buttons, labels, checkout and account pages, into the visitor's language. Your bio, captions, product titles and other text you write appear exactly as you wrote them, with no machine translation.

### Can visitors switch language?

Yes. Every creator page has a language menu in the footer, and the choice is remembered in that visitor's browser. Without a saved choice, the page follows the browser's language settings, then falls back to English.

### Should I write my bio in Hindi or English?

Use the language your reels are in and your followers comment in. If your audience is mixed, a two-line bilingual bio works well and fits within QKAP's 300-character limit. Hinglish in Roman script is fine if that's how you speak on camera.

### Do I need a separate link for each language?

No. QKAP URLs never carry a language, so `qkap.app/yourname` is the same for everyone. Each visitor sees the interface in their own language from the same link.

### What if my audience speaks a language QKAP doesn't support?

The page shows the next supported language in the visitor's browser settings, or English. You can still write your bio and captions in any language or script you like, because your own text is shown as written.

### Is the QKAP dashboard available in Hindi?

Not at the moment. The creator dashboard is in English, while the public site and creator pages support 19 languages.
