# Product Launch Week Playbook: Announcement Bar, Codes and Email

> A day-by-day launch plan for creators selling their own product: an announcement bar with countdown, a limited discount code, email broadcasts and reels.

A good creator launch runs for seven days with a clear start and a real end. Warm up your list for two weeks, then open sales with an announcement bar, a capped launch code and your first email, send a mid-week reminder and a last-day email, post reels that point to your page all week, and close exactly when you said you would. This playbook walks through each day using tools that are already on your QKAP page, on every plan.

## Key takeaways

- Start two weeks early: finish the product, test checkout and collect interested people on a waitlist.
- Open with three things at once: the product goes live, the announcement bar starts, and the launch email goes out.
- Use a discount code with a usage limit and an expiry date, and share links that apply the code automatically.
- Three emails across the week is a sensible plan: opening day, mid-week and the last day.
- Close on time. Set the sales deadline and the bar's end time to the same moment, let the code expire that day, and don't quietly extend.
- After launch, confirm every payment, deliver, ask buyers for honest reviews and write down what worked.

## Two weeks before: product ready, list building, content plan

Most launches are won or lost before day one. Use these two weeks to remove every reason a ready buyer might not buy.

1. **Finish the product.** Upload the files, record the lessons or set your coaching hours. Ask two friends to go through it and tell you what's confusing.
2. **Create the product as "coming soon".** On QKAP, a coming-soon product collects emails instead of orders, so your page starts building a [waitlist](https://qkap.app/features/waitlists) straight away. No account is needed to join.
3. **Grow your list.** Offer a free lead magnet related to the product, such as a checklist or a sample lesson. Everyone who downloads it joins your subscriber list with clear consent.
4. **Set up payments and test them.** Add your UPI ID or your own payment link in Dashboard → Payments. Then ask a friend to place a real order and pay you, so you can check the whole flow: payment, "I've paid", and confirming the order in Orders. Our guide to [selling digital products with UPI](https://qkap.app/blog/sell-digital-products-with-upi) covers the buyer's side.
5. **Prepare the launch code.** In Store › Discounts, create a percent or fixed code for this product, with a usage limit if the offer is "first 50 buyers" and an expiry date on your last day, then pause it until launch day. See [discount codes and order bumps](https://qkap.app/features/discounts-and-order-bumps) and our guide to [discount codes for your creator store](https://qkap.app/blog/creator-store-discount-codes).
6. **Set the deadline.** Give the product a sales end date and time. At that moment the checkout closes by itself and the page shows "Sales have closed" with a waitlist form. [Limited spots and deadlines](https://qkap.app/features/limited-spots) explains the options.
7. **Schedule the announcement bar.** In Dashboard → Appearance → Announcement bar, write one line, add a button to the product, set the start time to your launch and the end time to your close, and switch on the countdown. Our [announcement bar ideas](https://qkap.app/blog/announcement-bar-ideas) include launch lines you can adapt.
8. **Draft three emails and plan five reels.** A teaser, a behind-the-scenes clip, the launch reel, an FAQ reel and a last-call reel are a solid base.

## Day 1: open cart

Do everything in the same hour, so the page, the email and the reel tell one story.

- **Publish the product** and unpause the launch code.
- **Check the announcement bar** has gone live at its scheduled time, with the countdown ticking.
- **Email the waitlist** from the product editor, then send a broadcast to your subscribers. QKAP's [email broadcasts](https://qkap.app/features/email-broadcasts) can go to everyone, subscribers, customers or one product's waitlist, up to three sends in any 24 hours, and the waitlist email counts as one of them.
- **Post the launch reel** and say exactly where to go: "Link in bio, it's the top bar." Pin the reel to your grid.
- **Share the code link.** Each active code gets a [share link](https://qkap.app/features/share-links), copied from the product editor, that opens the product with the discount already applied. Drop it in stories and DMs.

Keep the first day's message simple: what it is, who it's for, the price, the code, the deadline. Our [call-to-action examples](https://qkap.app/blog/link-in-bio-call-to-action-examples) help with the wording.

## Days 2 to 5: proof, answers and reminders

The middle of a launch is quieter. That's normal. Use it to answer doubts and show the product working.

- **Confirm payments quickly.** Buyers pay you directly by UPI or your payment link and tap "I've paid". Open Orders twice a day and confirm; bulk "Mark as paid" helps after a busy evening. Access unlocks when you confirm.
- **Answer questions in public.** Collect the questions you're getting and answer them in a stories series. Add the best ones to the product page's FAQ, which holds up to 8.
- **Save inbox quick replies.** If you use QKAP's [inbox](https://qkap.app/features/inbox), save up to 10 quick replies for common questions such as refunds, access and who it's for.
- **Show real proof.** Share what early buyers say, with their permission. Never invent testimonials or numbers of buyers.
- **Send the mid-week email** on day 3 or 4: answer the top three questions and remind people of the deadline.
- **Watch your numbers.** Realtime analytics show the last 30 minutes on every plan, so you can see whether a story is sending people to the page.

## Days 6 and 7: last call and close on time

- **Last-call content.** Post the last-call reel and stories on the final day, naming the closing time. Your page's countdown does the rest.
- **Final email** on the morning of the last day, with the exact closing time and time zone.
- **Close.** At the deadline, the checkout closes and the announcement bar disappears on their own, because you set both to the same moment. The code expires at the end of that day, and with sales closed it can't be used anyway.

Resist the "surprise extension". If something genuinely broke, such as a payment outage, tell everyone what happened and the new time. Otherwise, a deadline that moves teaches your audience that your deadlines don't mean anything. Read [how to share deals without misleading your followers](https://qkap.app/blog/avoid-misleading-deal-claims) for the honest-urgency rules.

## After launch: deliver, review and learn

1. **Clear the payment queue.** Orders flags payments that have waited more than 48 hours, and unpaid orders cancel automatically after 7 days.
2. **Deliver and check in.** Make sure every buyer has their private link; resend it from Orders if someone can't find theirs.
3. **Ask for reviews.** On QKAP, only buyers with a confirmed order can leave a [verified review](https://qkap.app/features/verified-reviews), and you approve each one before it shows. Ask once, politely, for honest feedback.
4. **Review the numbers.** Each order shows the code used, and the product's Share & stats card shows page views, paid orders, conversion and revenue. Note page views, clicks, sales, code uses and which reel or story drove the most visits.
5. **Keep the waitlist for next time.** Visitors who arrive after the close can join the product's waitlist, which becomes the warmest list for your next launch.

## Frequently asked questions

### How big should a launch discount be?

Big enough to reward people who act during launch week, small enough that you're happy to offer it again at your next launch. A usage limit, such as the first 50 buyers, rewards early buyers without discounting every sale. Whatever you choose, show the real regular price and end the offer when you said you would.

### How many emails is too many?

Three emails across a seven-day launch is a reasonable plan: opening day, mid-week and the last day. QKAP allows up to three broadcasts in any 24 hours, waitlist emails included, but that's a ceiling, not a target. Every email carries an unsubscribe link, so watch for people leaving and adjust next time.

### What if sales are slow on day one?

Don't panic or cut the price. Check that the button works, the code applies and payments arrive, then look at where visitors come from in your analytics. Use the middle days to answer objections with FAQ content and real proof.

### Can I run a product launch on QKAP's Free plan?

Yes. The store, discount codes, share links, waitlists, broadcasts and the announcement bar are on every plan, and QKAP takes no cut of your sales. Free analytics cover the last 7 days, which fits a launch week; Premium adds longer ranges and other extras listed on the [pricing](https://qkap.app/pricing) page.

### Do buyers need an account to buy during a launch?

On QKAP, for anything with a price, buyers create a free QKAP account, which is also where they find their purchases later. Free downloads and lead magnets only need a quick form.
